By exploring cartoon physics through various cartoon physics actions such as Popeye using a whale as not only a boat, but as stairs to reach the dock, the exploration of malleable accessibility through architecture is discovered. Through cartoon abstractions, stencil making, making our own cartoon character and action, and creating a physical rug of a 2D snapshot of the cartoon GIF, we start to explore the cartoon physics world through architectural means and try to replicate it within our own architectural world.

Panel 2: Floats along the river, smoothest point
Panel 4: Closer to land, somewhat rigid
Panel 5: Lifts to grab onto the land, more rigid
Panel 6: About to fully grab land, more rigid and detailed
Panel 7: Most rigid as it grips the land with front rigid teeth; turns into a staircase bridge accessible from land to water.
Popeye Cartoon Panel 1: The whale boat becomes rigid like stairs as Popeye begins to ascend up onto the dock.
Popeye Cartoon Panel 2: The whale is fully rigid as it supports Popeye as he ascends to the dock.
Popeye Cartoon Panel 3: The whale is a full rigid staircase that allowed Popeye to get from Point A to Point B.
Abstraction of Panel 1: Only keeping the three most important characters and trying to make them unrecognizable, but still keeping the concept of malleability.
Abstraction of Panel 2: Playing around with different color scheme and abstracting the characters more, so they are less recognizable.
